I am looking to buy Amtico Spacia. I am being told that if it is bought on line the guarantee will be invalid as only shops that stock it have qualified fitters. Is this right?
The Amtico guarantee is a product guarantee only and is reliant on use of the correct Amtico formulated adhesive.
If you were to buy and have your flooring installed by your local approved Amtico supplier then they would guarantee their labour and floor preparation and you have the assurance that they will use fully qualified installers which is a requirement of them being approved by Amtico. This would mean you have the whole job guaranteed with one point of reference should a problem arise in the future.
If you buy your Amtico on the internet and find your own installer then it is up to your installer to provide you with his own guarantee for his work and also provide assurances that he will be available and willing if a problem should arise in the future. The Amtico would be guaranteed against manufacturing defects and you would refer to the company you purchased from should a problem arise in the future.
